Florian Cramer compressed the nominated oscar movies to 1.44mb, which is the size of an old floppy disk. Don’t know how we could show them but I think they could be nice to have them around.

oh, yes i saw them when you sent me the link before, quite amazing, really beautiful… i saw a similar work from Cory Archangel once, not in terms of compression size, but the abstraction of a film based upon one horizontal line of pixels in the frame (something like this, i can’t quite remember) expanded to fill the frame. audio was included, but you could no longer see anything but abstract colour streams like these floppy films. i think this would be nice if we had real floppies around, but hmm… perhaps not so easy to access these days…
oh we can just put them on a desktop on a harddisk
was my idea
maybe we have to make a little cd-rom for it
or a intern website
but i will ask florian.
